Common questions
-
Spindle isn't showing my music. Spindle needs Media & Apple
Music access to read your library. Check Settings › Spindle on
your iPhone, or Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple
Music. If access is on and the library still looks short, open
Settings › Library inside Spindle — it may be filtered to just
Apple Music or just Local Files, and it reports how many songs it found from each.
-
Some Apple Music songs are missing. Tracks that can't actually be
played are hidden rather than shown as dead ends. That usually means catalog
content without an active Apple Music subscription. When a whole list is empty for
that reason, Spindle says so instead of showing you a blank screen. Music you've
downloaded or synced to the device still plays.
-
Do I need an Apple Music subscription? No. Spindle plays the music
already on your iPhone — downloaded, synced, or purchased. A subscription only adds
streaming from the Apple Music catalog. Playback and focus mode are never behind
Spindle's own paid unlock either.
-
Can I change the app icon? No — Spindle has one icon and keeps it.
Themes restyle the player itself, but the home-screen icon stays put, so the app
always looks the same where you go to find it.
-
I bought Spindle Pro on another device — how do I restore it? Open
Settings › Unlock Spindle Pro and choose Restore
Purchase. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the
original purchase. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

The wheel isn't scrolling. The platter scrolls by dragging around
it, like spinning a record — a tap on the platter won't move the selection. Tap the
label at the centre to choose the highlighted item.
